Requirements
To help you prepare, here is an overview of the required documentation:
- Previous academic qualifications*.
- MIU application form.
- Non-refundable $150 application fee.
- Your updated resume.
- A copy of your passport or official ID.
- English language level certificate (if required).
- For international students: F1 student visa.
Contact the Admissions Office for all the information you need to enroll.
*To apply for a bachelor’s program, you must submit your high school diploma. To apply for a master’s program, you must submit your bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent. To apply for a Continuation Education program, you must submit your bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience. If your degree is not from the United States, you will need to get a credential evaluation.
F1 student visa and enrollment
We help you with your visa
If you are not a U.S. citizen or resident, here are the steps to follow to get your visa:
- Get the I-20 document from MIU, which is necessary for the F1 Student Visa application.
- Fill out your enrollment agreement. Don’t forget to sign and date it.
- Send the non-refundable $250 visa fee to MIU City University Miami via bank transfer.
- Pay your tuition before the I-20 is processed. This payment will be refundable if you are unable to get the F1 Visa for reasons related to the university. However, if you are unable to get the F1 Visa for reasons related to your individual circumstances, your tuition payment will not be refunded.
- Submit a certified bank statement in English, along with a financial statement. MIU will verify that you have sufficient funds to cover your full tuition and additional expenses for your first year.
- Fill out and submit the Affidavit of Support form if you are being sponsored.
- Submit your academic diplomas and certifications in English.
- If English is not your first language, demonstrate your English proficiency by submitting one of the following:
- Standardized test scores: PTE (54), TOEFL (70 – IBT), or IELTS (6.0).
- English exam at MIU City University Miami.
- Diploma from a university or high school where English is the main language of instruction.
- ESL program from an institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Completed ESL program at MIU City University Miami.
- Submit a copy of your passport once you have gained admission.
As an added value, MIU gives you the possibility of putting your new knowledge into practice once you’ve finished your academic studies. Thanks to your student visa, you can also get an OPT visa that will allow you to work in the United States for one year.
